Matic Wines – Amphora Riesling This wine represents a fascinating display of ancient tradition, crafted in clay amphorae. These vessels have been used for centuries, offering micro-oxygenation and enhanced texture, but have fallen out of style in industrial winemaking. Aging with the grape skin brings body, flavor, and ageability to an otherwise lighter-styled wine. Deep golden color. Nose of stewed apples, evolving with time to reveal lemon citrus and even rose petals. Slight sherry notes, juicy pineapple, and a hint of olive on the finish. Firm acidity cleanses the palate. Selectively hand-harvested in the early morning for optimal flavor. Macerated for over 200 days in a clay amphora. Meticulously bottled by hand, always unfiltered and unfined, to preserve the wine’s natural flavors and textures.
